    Default 2006 accidents

Can anyone tell me where these accidents took place? There are many "Blue Springs" in FL, and "unnamed cave" is a little vague too

    14 June 2006
    Blue Springs, Florida
    bad air, lost consciousness
Taylor Smith was free diving in Blue Springs because “it’s a lot more hard-core (than scuba-diving).” He found a pocket of air, took a breath, and suffered a seizure on his way back to the surface. His younger brother Wesley dragged his unconscious body from the water and started CPR saving his life. In another account (same person), when he surfaced, he began coughing up blood. Taylor was rushed to a local hospital for treatment in a hyperbaric oxygen therapy chamber.

Comments: Their mother is a avid, certified diver. His younger brother saved his life. Taylor professes to want to continue the sport.

    15 July 2006
    Unnamed cave, Chassahowitzka River, Florida
    fatality, inadequate equipment
Four friends decided to go snorkeling and free diving into small caves in the Chassahowitza River at 3 AM. Jason Boyette (22) was last to take his turn with the single set of gear and a flashlight. He never came up. At 3:30 AM the friends call authorities after searching from the surface.
Sheriff’s Office divers found the body stuck in the cave at 9 AM. The tunnel was small being only 10-12 feet long and two feet in diameter. To get inside Boyette had to get through one of three holes to get to the tunnel.

Yes a lot of free divers like to practice in Blue Spring.

Th other one is Chassahowitzka River, Florida Springs, at the "head" of the Chassahowitzka River in the preserve just north of the Eagles Nest preserve. I believe it also has Chassahowitzka in the title.

Oh, and a little trivia, I think back in the day Al Capone and some buddies hung out there (the town).
