My group of four (myself included) decided to do a single stage/scooter dive to the Well Casing and possibly to the end of the Line in Little River. Three of the four were in sidemount with myself as the sole backmounter. Two of us were on Makos and two were on Silent Submersions. The Mako folks led in with myself in the number two position. Visibility wasn't great to begin with, with average vis at about 15 ft. The first SNAFU occurred shortly after Table Rock as the lead divers scooter jammed in the on position. A few moments and this was corrected. We took the Merry Go Round and scootered freely into the Florida Room. Visibility improved slightly at this point to maybe 20ft. Shortly after the Florida Room we ran up on a couple of swimming divers who kept looking back, but would not move to allow for an easy passing. It soon became apparent why. There was another two man scooter team on the way out. We soon sorted everything out and continued our dive. We dropped scooters at the Dome Room, in retrospect we probably should have dropped scooters earlier as the visibility was now down to 2-3 feet. We progressed maybe another 200+ feet further before the dive was called. We returned to the scooters and the SS guys jumped on and visibility went to zero. Myself and the drag guy swam approx 100 ft before visibility became sufficient to resume the Easy Ride. I did bang a few times on the ceiling on the way out. The ride to the Merry Go Round was uneventful and then surprise as the leaders took the serpentine instead/ Stop/signal/discuss/ the hell with it! I'm out of here, I was begining to get cold in my wetsuit. Divers one and two decide to check out the Harper Tunnel, but didn't have a jump. I left them a spool and drag guy followed me out. I went ahead and scooterd through Serpentine with one full on collision with an overhang. I shook it off and we continued the exit. At deco drag guys computer seemed to have blown a gasket so he jusiciously added a little safety margin. We exited and while breaking our gear down drag guy asked me if I had all my knobs. I looked and sure enough My left post was completely gone. WOW! I'm glad that we didn't have any other problems, as things could have gotten real interesting real fast. Lesson learned, check valves after any contact with the cave.
