Technically, this should go in the Fill Station, but it is pretty slow today.

The best way to find shark's teeth is to root around in the mud, and feel for them. I don't know about Venice, but most sites with shark's teeth are low vis anyway.

I have a foolproof, and very easy way to collect Sharks teeth while diving in the near zero visibility of Venice Beach.
I tested this method using my mother in law and a pair of old socks.
While suiting up for the dive I convinced my mother in law that the two Mullet head stuffed socks I was holding were actually ankle weights and they were necessary equipment for this sort of beach dive. She was hesitant at first but to further make my point I duct taped a pair of Wal-mart brand tube socks filled with a few golf balls to my own ankles just above my jet fins.
She relented and I assisted her with her with the installation.
I lost sight of her during the dive but I did hear a fair amount of commotion and cussing through a regulator about 15 minutes into the dive. "Fortunately"...... she made it out of the water relatively unscathed but I was able to remove 7 really nice Bullshark's teeth from her now mangled pink fins.
Dang!! Is there anything I won't do to further the cause of science?

Finding teeth is pretty easy. Just swim out to around 20 feet and look around. You will find around 50 small ones per dive. Some megs are there but harder to find.
Look at the scubaboard site under Florida divers. It has a very detailed article about finding teeth in Venice.

Ed Jackson is right. You will notice the sand starts to get patches of black pebble in it. This is where I look. Also at the northern parts of the beach if you swim out to about 25 feet you will find a 3 foot ledge. Its fun to peek around at.

    Default sharks' teeth

My kids used to pick up sharks' teeth on the Venice beach after every storm.
