    :arrowblack Gregg Stanton 7-11-24

Gregg Stanton passed away last night. His health had been declining for the last few years, and took a bad turn. Gregg and Ann had moved back to Hawaii a few years ago, and bought a house with an avocado grove.

Gregg was an interesting character. We crossed paths at Harbor Branch back in the early 70's, same place, same time but did not remember much about it. Gregg was a biologist by training. Went on a number of expeditions as a scientist/diver.

We did a fair amount of diving together, more so just sitting and taking. Gregg was very smart. He had a professorial manner that some did not like, but I enjoyed, and a dry sense of humor. I will miss him.

This is sad to hear. Gregg was such a nice guy. He always treated me like I was someone important. I'll never forget when I was planning the 2013-2014 CDF NYE Social and the grillmaster had to bail a day before. Gregg called me and asked if he could cook the burgers - saving the social from sure disaster!

    Rest in peace, buddy.

Sad loss for the community. Condolences to his family.

Great instructor, above and beyond. He was always very generous with his knowledge and had great stories.

Fair winds and following seas. See you on the other side of the restriction Gregg.
