    Default Whale bone

If anyone has dove or is diving in the Insulation Room and photographed the whale bone, could I have a copy please. I can't drive at the moment and it's been awhile since I check the restoration.
    Thanks

I don't have a picture, but was there a month ago and it looked as good as when you put it in.

For those new to the forum, MA is an amazing person with marrying art and cave diving. His repair of the clay banks at Cow springs is unbelievable, as well as repair of the whale bone. Where there are few of us left who remember the Cornflakes at Ginnie, MA has made sure future cave divers will be able to see these things.

Yeah Cow still looks amazing compared to how it was vandalized.
I stopped for a while on the way out a couple weeks ago and his work is still holding after many years.
    Thanks

Yes, the corn flakes just past the keyhole in Ginne were awesome. But was just corn crumbs left by early 2000’s. Now it’s all gone. Same for the Gothite at the beginning of Orange Grove…….

My instructor (Reggie Ross) showed it to me and emphasized not to damage it and how important cave conservation is/was.

Thanks Everyone and for the kind words Kelly. Not being able to dive for the last six months but I miss the science and conservation project dives the most.

Sadly, the instruction by many agencies does little to cover cave conservation, so many cave divers have little to no understanding of goethite , and other things. It used to pain me to see stage bottle placed on the line laying on top of a pile of goethite. Stage diving 101 says carry the bottle to another a better drop point, or if you have to, run a line off the main line to that stage bottle.

    Default MA in action

Here's a shot of Michael Angelo in action repairing that horrific Cow vandalism. I'm still impressed by watching MA do his thing to repair the clay bank, and all the work that went in before-hand like selecting the right clay filler, etc. It's really amazing, and I don't think I'm over-stating it. To my knowledge, this has only been done in an underwater cave at Cow.

Thanks. Didnt realize he used some sort of epoxy for that.
And thanks MA. I remember when the work was being done and it was an impressive feat

Still pains me to see it. Also pains me to see stage bottles carried on butt rings banging off of the overhead.
