Default WTB: Hull and battery rack for UV18

Looking for parts to make a UV18 out of a UV26. Don't need the batteries, nor an entire scooter.

Find a local machine shop with a big lathe. Salvage the fittings from the UV26.

I have a hull for the 18, but the rack was stolen.

Is this the battery rack? Only image I could find. Looks like something that should not be too difficult to build up from plate stock and a bit of tubing. Aluminum? HD plastics? PVC sched. 80?

Do not go gentle into that good night.

I'd like to keep the UV26 hull intact.

You will still need that friend with a big lathe though. When they cut it they will use a rough cut band saw so the cut is not so smooth. Someone who is good with a lathe can clean it up pretty easily though.

Decided to cut the UV26 hull as I realized I don't ever want to carry a UV26 again. It took some time to find a shop that was capable, and also willing, to do a one-off job for a private party.

The first quote was $200 for cutting only. I found a second shop that cut for $90 - I am drilling and tapping for the latches myself. If you want the name of the shop and are willing to ship to Merrimac, Wisconsin, contact me.
