Sorry I couldnt help out again at Emerald this weekend.I wanted to dive with my daughter for her cavern class on Saturday and Sunday. She did great and passed, which I was more happy about than me.They started out at Orange Grove, then Peacock.Sunday we went to Madison for two dives and they were done.My daughter absolutely loves Paul Heinerth. The wife came down to get her Sunday evening andI concentrated on myself.Monday morn Paul and I,both staying at dive outpost headed back to Peacock.Did primary tie off and clipped onto the peanut line.Got to the end of the breakdown where it drops and right ear wouldnt equalize.Went back up to the upper boulders and it popped.Swam on to the crossover tunnel and tied in a jump spool there.Followed it to the pothole line and connected that gap as well.Followed that line and surfaced in Olsen.Paul told me to slow down I was wearing him out.He led out and it was much more relaxing. Ate lunch Luraville general, topped off tanks and back to Peacock.Followed pothole line down,[did bubble check,s drill ect]before first dive of course.I got maybe 300 ft. past pothole tunnel sign and Paul was gone.I knew he didnt pass me,so I turned around and covered my light for about ten seconds.Pitch black. So I eased back towards the sign covering my light every few seconds.A tunnel on the left was silt free. Then a tunnel to my right was silt free.I froze there covering my light and caught a slight flicker, super faint, down the right tunnel. So I tied in my safety reel but didnt mark the direction out.Went back where I knew he had to be and around the corner ther he was.I followed him out and got wound back up.He pointed out double line arrows that I didnt even notice, that I should have tied between. We continued down to the crossover, where I picked up the spool I put in earlier. At the end of the crossover, picked up th other spool and headed outward on the peanut line.As soon as we reached the breakdown,Paul checked my spg.I knew what was coming up.As soon as we leveled off,Paul signaled me OOA!I gave him my long hose and he got ahead of me and to my left and pointed to my light,so I cut it off and we air shared,no lights, buddy contact to the sign.It went incredibly smooth, and I was very relaxed.Did safety stop, pick up primary and surface, where its now raining.Second day, back to Peacock,we desided to stage to challenge.Clipped 02 bottles to the peanut line along with primary reel, and breathed stage bottle to thirds.Got about 900 ft penetration on it and clipped it to the line.Shut bottle off and continued to challenge.58 minutes in.Surfaced at challenge for about 15 minutes talking, and he led back.Picked up spool at peanut restriction, put in on the way,and picked up stage bottles for our exit.More lunch and tank topoff.Went by Jim Hollis"s newest dive shop on monroe street in Mayo,he sold the old place at convict, and we talked to him for a while. He caters more to open water divers with some good prices I thought.Last dive was to Orange Grove.Ran primary to sign and dropped 02 bottles but didnt stage.I led in and was proud of my air consumption.Too proud actually and halfway through the dive was cussing Oms for my spg being stuck. We surfaced in challenge and I showed Paul that my spg hadent moved. He reached up and opened my isolator which dropped the needle to2400psi.My exact turn pressure with 3600 to start.I checked the isolator before the first dive and still dont know how I got a complete fill. But an excellent lesson learned. We then did a valve shutdown drill, and headed back to Orange Grove, but wait,I thought it was the other way.Since Paul was heading out I knew we were going right, but thats the only way I knew.I told myself the next time I do that Ill put a marker on the line going back.Didnt want to go back to peacock being parked at Orange Grove and all.Lost line drill was uneventful.I couldnt believe all the marks in the mud at Orange Grove. In two days I put one finger in the mud twice. And Paul signaled me and pointed to them both times.Yes two finger holes is bad,but someone drug a stage halfway through the system. After surfacing Paul told me I could also run a spool from the line heading the way I wanted to go,to keep from going the wrong way back till I was sure. After my 80 question test and lots of paperwork to fill out we were done.He said I made an A on the test, and went over it all.Paul Heinerth is one of the nicest people I know.I cant imagine anybody not liking him,but if they do,they need to take a long hard look at themselves. Those of you that know him know what I mean.I had a great weekend of caving and learned alot.Im definetly a better cave diver now,and I really enjoyed the one on one.It was worth every penny.
