    Default Nitrogen Partial Pressure

Questions from page page 20 of this link

    https://www.frogkick.nl/files/george...r_articles.pdf

So is it true that high partial pressures of nitrogen illicit an immune response ?? I am guessing that basically means inflammation?

Part of current decompression theory is that nitrogen bubbles can illicit an immune response which leads to inflammation which can lead to further blockage/increases risk of DCS as cells and antibodies attach to bubbles (oversimplified). Whether or not helium does this as well I can not answer.

Interestingly, the Spisni study (UTD's Ratio Deco vs Buhlmann) was measuring Cytokines (proteins used in signaling inflammation and an immune response). In fact, the success of one vs the other was determined by cytokine levels.

Obviously this is unique response based on the individual, and I'm guessing Buhlmann was the winner of that study since it is so prevalent as a deco model in computers but now I'm curious if anyone here has experienced inflammation after a deco dive, I would think an obvious place it would be noticed would be stuffy nose or increased breathing effort (my guess) ?? I have no deco experience but have not experienced such things post dive.

    Thanks,

    Tim

That's pretty much everything I was told when I started technical training that if I ever see any of it, avoid that person like the plague.

Stroke?!? Wish I was only just a stroke. I am also “farm animal stupid” for having my SPG hose go under my left should strap and clipped to my left chest D-ring so I could easly read it.
