Default Sidemount harness for both sidemount and rebreather?

Which SM harnesses work well for backmount rebreathers? I want to be able to dive OC and CCR with the same basic configuration.

I'm not aware of any good sidemount harnesses that will also support a backmount configuration.

depends on your definition of good. The Nomad XT will do it better than any of the other ones. It's a great sidemount harness, just a bit bulky. For bmCCR it helps with the lift down low, especially with TOS or OTS counterlungs.
In sidemount it does work quite well though angel wings a little bit so it isn't quite as streamlined as it could be, but it's tradeoffs.

I actually saw a guy at Ginnie diving a KISS Sidekick with a HOG SM BC a few months back. It stood out to me just because I own one, and have not really witnessed very many in action.

When I was diving an Optima I used the older Nomad. Perfect for that and sidemount

I believe there's a pic of a Prism on a Armadillo around the forum somewhere.

I picked up a KISS Classic. I've got an old Nomad I don't use. I've also got my faux-mad dual rec bastard that I use for all my diving. Unless there is something significantly better, I'll use the Nomad.

I have been quite happy with http://www.cavediver.net/forum/showt...for-cold-water

It has been a coherent solution for my sidemount-, rebreather- and doublecylinderdiving.

while i'm sure it works, I don't believe it is safe in true sidemount caves due to the potential ratcheting of the hard backplate against the ceiling
