They should teach in the class to NOT leave a glory marker in a cave.

What's the point? If the line keeps going, then you have not made it anywhere special...

Obviously, marking a circut or marking a jump for later "visit" is fine... but arrows left for 1yr or more are just glory markers and simply clutter the line.

If you drill a hole in the tip and let the kids paint them they make nice Christmas ornaments. Sometimes you can clean them up enough to re-use them. While I rarely get motivated enough to take them off lines I have been known to snap up a floater now and then. Cindy

You mean you didn't write down the distances at which these markers were found? Slacker....

Why not? I personally used mine to mark the point of interest (i left it a month ago) for my next dive. I support though periodic line markers harvesting if it would be organized and cavers community timely informed like in this case.

Talking about Cow lines i would be more concern that some jumps are placed too close to the mainline, it would be easy to miss the 3ft jump and find yourself in the side tunnel especially if cave visitor is not familiar with system. Also i would suggest to make a gap in NotMyFault dropdown restriction, this way there will be no risk of entaglement in that restriction and it will keep the line more secure, IMHO.

P.S. you can recycle my marker i dont care.

I have been through not my fault many times and have never found the line to be an entanglement hazard.

The mainline is now gold line to max penetration. Just like most popular cave systems if you should find your self on any other line other than gold line, then this should alert you. Thank you for your suggestions.

HA! Picked up (3) floaters in one spot in Peacock yesterday, all from different people. I think I'm going to retile the guest bathroom with all the floaters I've found.

It's bad luck to be superstitious.

    Hiya Kelly!

Does the gold line split at the Y (about 1900' or so) so both sides have gold line?

Thank you and the other volunteers very much for doing this

    Safe diving,

    Rich
