    Default genome sequencing

We (microbiologists at my university) have some resources available for biofilm analysis and genome sequencing (http://www.illumina.com/techniques/sequencing.html) and I will be pulling several collectors that have been amassing some years worth of biofilms in the Merit's Mill Pond systems in the very near future. This analysis can also be used for some of the systems that have natural biofilms growing (e.g. Ginnie Insulation Room). I am interested in collecting more and am aware of several places with biofilm growth (Mons, Rose) but would be interested in other areas as well. If you know of insulation room like biofilm growths in systems I would appreciate a heads up and maybe some help in collecting samples....Thanks. Bill Huth

Hi Bill, there are biofilms at the end of the river intrusion tunnel in Ginnie. Same stuff as the insulation tunnel.

If you want more of that same stuff, there is TONS in Naharon, Tulum MX. It is on the jump left 400' in, then go for 600-800'.

Pandora cave in Mexico seems to have cool stuff too. Still under exploration.

Hey..the stuff in mexico is a great idea...gives me a reason to use my funding for a visit or three there . I have seen insulation material in many spots in Devils...behind stage bottle rock...and in the jump off the bear room, even in ginnie springs.
