That was a part of the the academic portion on the class.
At least for my training.

My instructors did it for all my cave, tech, and rebreather certs.

Not a cave instructor, but I do this will all my tech students and all professional candidates. I hand them a copy of the printed standards and we go over them during the first session so that they know exactly what is expected of them.
