Can anyone advise if the VR technology VRX computers are still supported? I know the company has changed hands in recent years.
Appreciate any info about this.
Thanks,
John

I never got a reply
emailed them tonight, I'll let you know what kind of response I get.
Well, VMS responded quick enough, but it looks like they want nothing to do with the VR computers, here is their response:
Hi John
I am afraid we only deal with the Sentinel rebreather. I do not believe there is any support for VR computers since they went bust two years ago. The remains of VR was bought by Avon Protection, they may be able to help.
Kind Regards
Martin

Well, I have not been able to find anyone to support the VRX computer. Here is the response from Avon Protection:
Dear John,
The VRx dive computer was manufactured by VR Technology Ltd which is in liquidation and has no connection to Avon Rubber.
Avon Rubber purchased the parent company and tried to help out existing customers when possible, however since restructuring and moving premises a year ago we no longer have the parts, tools or staff to support the VR dive computer range.
Sorry we cannot help further,
Best regards

The interesting thing is that VMS, who offer the Sentinel rebreather, sell what they call an "Intelligent Secondary Handset". This looks amazingly like the VRX computer that they do not support... Hmmmm...

One of the crappy things about being in a niche hobby. Small companies that run on the razor edge of solvency can orphan your equipment. IE VR, Salvo. makes the argument for companies like Dive Rite, Apex, Zeagle etc.
