    Default Cenote's near Tulum, Mexico

    Hi Everyone!

I'm not sure if this is the best place for this type of question, but I'm having trouble finding people who can help me answer it. My boss is traveling to Tulum, Mexico soon. He is a photographer and will be photographing a couple of people snorkeling in a cenote.

But he wants to make sure he is at these Cenote's when the light looks like it does in the photos attached, please see photos. I'm looking for someone who might be able to tell me if these 4 cenotes would have light coming in like this, and if there is a better time of day that the light would look like this? We are just not sure if all of these cenote's get enough light to make photographs similar to these.

    - Cenote Taj Mahal
    - Cenote Cristalino
    - Kululkan, Cenotes
    - Dos Ojos Cenote

Thank you for the tip about messaging Steve Gerrard. I looked up his name on Facebook and found a few people with the same name. Any other info that would help me find him on Facebook? thanks!

Try Steve Penn Gerrard. He lives in the Playa area. His FB page is loaded with cave diving pics. He recently posted some pics on the NACD FB page.

The summer is the best time to get that "light curtains", when the sun is on the top of the sky, and winter is the worst time because the sun is toward south

    Thanks Aktun!

My boss is going in the middle of March. I'm assuming the sun will still be towards the south and not really the most ideal time of year. But I would also assume that if he goes to these cenotes in the middle of the day (between 11am - 2pm), he will usually have a better chance of seeing some light curtains?

It's a shame that Cenote of the Sun was bulldozed. I haven't seen the result in person but Steve G has a photo up on his website.

Word on the street is that the property is being sold so to make it more sellable they are trying to make the cenote into something more appealing to swimmers and snorkelers.
