Do you have a local mentor that you can talk to? It's hard to give you advice without knowing a lot about you and it's hard for you to believe anything I might tell you if we don't already have a relationship built on trust and respect.

trying to get him to come up to lake jocassee to dive with him, hopefully we can get that sorted this summer which will help. Get him in the water with a couple other cave divers up here to make a better recommendation

The best TI's are educators...the worst have maucho & "I know it all" personas ! Been there ..met the worst & then moved on to the best ! The worst TI's don't last long and will fall into the abyss sooner or later ! My first instructor knew nothing about teaching and yet alone how to treat potential students who are interested in becoming a cave diver ! My 2nd instructor and mentor was a teacher & taught me well ! Words of wisdom son ! I wish you well !
