Default What is a Cave Diver-?

A cave diver is a trained & skilled technically advanced & safe buddy to be with under the water. He is self-confident but not self-centered. He is often an explorer without being an adventurer. He is willing to help those in need rather than to worry about his own issues. He will compliment you on your progressions & help you when needed. He is happy to share his finds with you, rather than horde his 'diamond's under the surface. He is a 'teacher' who is honored to show you how to do something or learn some needed skills. This list will go on.....>so please add to it if you will-!
These are some of my observations.
My only question is: 'Are you a Cave Diver-?

I'd have to say you have a very idealized version of a cave diver.

'Are I a Cave Diver?' I probably score 8/10 on that list - does that leave me out?

You & K. top the list Gary. Never worry about this. I keep reading about your dives, & I'm sincerely impressed with where you've been. Keep it going-!
The best for both of you.

Oh Jack, you are way too romantic, may be it is something common in all divers even those who are complete nuddz.. which makes all of us some kind of a brotherhood. I wish i would be a Cave Diver by your definition but i'm not. Don't let stress and depression to take over you man.

I don't to what it's like to be a cave diver yet. I only have 147 cave dives, so I am still in my "license to learn" phase.

No offense but it sounds a lot like a Boy Scout or something similar and I have not met many cave divers that fit that profile.. I guess they must be rare. I ,for one, definitely don't fit the profile as it starts with "He"...

I agree I think there are some awesome lady cave divers. There are not too many guys that have dived where Cindy or Jill H. have gone or even have the dives of some of the ladyies that cave dive. I hope I only become half the cave diver as Cindy B. 'Cause I could dive for the next 50 yrs and not be half the diver as Jill H.

    John,
You're in the 'Flow' & I have a lot of respect for you. It's amazing how we can immediatlely learn to know someone without really being with them-!

    Celia,
You definately fit the profile as it starts with 'He' .......>which grammatically refers to all cave divers in general, & not just 'men'-! If you were to read between the lines of this thread, you would understand that it is designed to tweak our own egos or Ids & to bring out the best in each of us. Everyone I've met & dove with so far with-in this community are genuinely warm & caring.

    Hey Jammer,
Please read the above regarding our lady cave diving companions. 'He' refers to all genders in our english language , & in no way are puns aimed at our women divers-! I don't know Jill H. other than by her stardom or the excellent reviews I've read of her teaching. I have a long ways to go before I can even scratch the surface of where she has been-! Nor, do I have any intentions of competing with her. Cindy B. ....>Well, she scared the daylites out of me while trying to dig out more passage-way beyond the end of the line in downstream Cow-! I'm not saying anymore about that- !

    Again, Kids
Don't take any of this too serious, but try instead to add some things or ideas that will help us to improve our own skills.
    Dive Safe everyone.

    Jack
