Thread: FS: 3D Printer

  1. #1

    Default FS: 3D Printer

I'm selling my 3D printer to help pay for a larger unit. I've been printing with this one for over a year now. Lots of details here if you're interested: http://www.cavediver.net/forum/showt...ve-Diving-Gear.

In addition to the printer, I'm willing to spend the better part of a day helping you set it up (and your computer so you can sketchup and print) and teaching you what I've learned in a years worth of printing parts for diving. This will only really work if you're near me, or near cave country. I'll also include a 1 kg spool of black ABS. It's not the good stuff, it's the stuff I use to prototype.

Please PM me if you are seriously interested. I want this to go to someone who understand what they're getting in to.

Dang you... I have too many other toys right now but I am looking at getting one.
I will do some research on yours and see if it will be the right fit and get back to you soon.

No rush. The new one takes over a month to ship.

Jason - I'm curious what the new one will do that the current one doesn't. Why did you feel the need to upgrade?

The major things are larger, and dual extruders. This one has a 200x200x135mm build area, the new one is 300x300x200mm. Printing a single item that big is problematic because of the shrinking of the plastic, but I do runs if 30 to 150 pieces. The size will save me days at a time. With the dual extruders I can print more complicated nylon parts, with another material as support. Nylon is so strong, as it's own support material, it's almost impossible to remove. It's not practical for anything other than simple parts and small runs without something else for support.

No, that would have made my question seem foolish. The full explanation makes Don's comeback seem idiotic. I like that better.
