A recent locking of a thread with the comment about how many "felt" that it "might" become uncivil prompted this poll. What do you think? Overbearing? Just right? Not enough?

"Learning the techniques of others does not interfere with the discovery of techniques of one's own." B.F. Skinner, 1970.
"Expected?", he replied flatly.
I really enjoy some of the other threads.

Not my call and I don't give a damn one way or the other.
I think the moderation is heavy but needed. Other forums have very little or no moderation and its all just a mud slinging contest. The way I see it, just act professional and only post things you would say in person. Makes the mods jobs easier.

Whether we like the moderation or not, this forum is owned by someone, and they accept responsibility (and probably liability) for what occurs here. They have the ability to decide how they want the forum run. If we don't like it,the software can purchased,as well as the domain and start one. I know people who have left this and other forums because they didn't like how it was run,and that I can accept. This isn't Baskin and Robins, and they don't have 32 flavors. All I can say is thank you to the ownership, since I don't see outside advertisement, I have to assume it comes out of pocket, and thank you to the moderators, because you will never make everyone happy.

I think it is just right, the moderators and owner are awesome and I am not a bit biased or anything like that.
"Is this thing on?"
The owner is free to do as they please, their house, their rules. The mods have a mostly thankless job, I generally respect their decisions, even if I don't agree. Locking and deleting threads like the ones this thread is about just makes me want to know more about what is being suppressed and why so much effort is being made about something I had no interest in. I think it would have been better to have just let it die out than to stir everyone up and get them talking.
