Help Wounded Warriors and have fun too! Weeki Wachee Warrior Challenge Scooter Races

This is the third year for this event and it continues to grow. It benefits wounded warriors from the Special Operations Group. I'm guessing a few people in the cave diving community may be interested in helping out and I'm also guessing there may be some who know how to ride scooters. LOL It's scheduled for September 20-22 this year and I'll post more info as I get it.

There is an axiom about volunteering but apparently I missed it somewhere. LOL I've been asked to help coordinate volunteers and help out more to get cave divers involved. We are planning some new events including some night scootering. It was suggested that might be something cave divers want to get involved with so let me know who's interested. Also, last year they figured out there is a real need to be able to fill tanks onsite. We need portable compressors. My email is richard@floridadiveconnection.com Send me an email if you can help. Awesome guys! Thanks. I talked to Joe this morning and he's very pleased about how much interest we've already generated. We're working on setting up committees now and we'll keep everybody posted. We talked about the need for a gas supply again. I understand that was a problem last year. Anybody have any ideas? A local fire department has agreed to bring their compressor. More compressors and a few bottles in a bank would be fantastic.....

We're seeing a lot of enthusiasm for this year's Weeki Wachee Warrior Challenge and are looking forward to a great event. I've put info up on the FDC calendar and we've worked out a special rate with the hotel across the street. It was a Quality Inn but just changed branding to Motel 6. They have given us a rate of only $39.99. When making reservations you must mention Weeki Wachee Warrior Challenge and let them know if you need a ground floor.

We've been asked to have several cave divers on scooters do a scooter riding demonstration in Weeki Wachee Spring basin on Friday night Sept. 20th. Anybody interested in participating please let me know.
