Default Achilles 16' Inflatable boat $4900

Want to dive those "inaccessible" secret caves that nobody gets to dive? You need this boat...

Achilles SG156 Inflatable boat for sale (trailer not included, but available for separate sale). This boat is as tough as they get... hypalon material (not the weaker PVC like most inflatable available on the market). Boat was purchased brand new in July 2011... was setup with 50hp outboard but that has been sold. Boat is in great shape, no damage or leaks, tough and ready for your next adventure. This rugged model offers both the room and performance to fill a range of needs. Its size allows you to carry a fully equipped team of divers or rescue personnel for any situation. Its tough Hypalon® fabric and aluminum floor systems stand up to all types of heavy use. A deep "V" trigon air keel insures better tracking and performance when speed is of the essence.

    SPECS:
    -5 chamber hypalon construction
-inflatable keel tube with soft style hull
    -50HP max capacity outboard
    -2400lbs max capacity load rate
    -2 removable/exchangeable bench seats included
-Heavy duty grab handles, 2 on each side of exterior
-Marine Grade Aluminum sectional floor (5 pieces)
-Boat deflates and rolls up for storage or transport, however with heavy motor you will want to keep it on a trailer, smaller outboards could be removable for storage.
    - fiberglass encased transom with protective motor clamp plate
    - full-length teardrop rubbing strake
-bow carry handle; lift & carry handles; towing bridle D-rings
-full-length splash guard with life lines; transom splash guard

Brand new 2013 model is MSRP $9745, but on Defender.com (cheapest one I have found online) retails for $7578. They also offer a Brand new 2011 model (same year as mine) MSRP $8770 on sale for $6545.... buy mine instead and save over $1600!!

$4900... no scam offer please.... call/text/email Matt 90four-465-three152

    Hi,

I'm interested, can you post close up pics of the transom and hull?

    I have a few questions:

    1) Whats a "scam" offer, I'm not sure how an offer can be a scam unless the buyer wants you to hold paper.

    2) 50 HP is the max, but will it take the heavier 4 strokes? or does a 2 make more sense?

    3) What do you want for the trailer?

    4) How fast does it run wide open and whats the most economical RPM and speed?

    Thanks,

    Jon

    I have a few questions:

    1) Whats a "scam" offer, I'm not sure how an offer can be a scam unless the buyer wants you to hold paper.

-this was my ad cut and pasted from craigslist... anytime I advertise a high dollar item I always get people emailing me telling me they want to buy the item but they are currenly "in Africa and will need to send a check for twice the value of the item and to keep a generous portion of the funds for myself and return the rest in form of a cashiers check"... basically check fraud... so I try to deter them from even emailing me since I won't fall for the scam.

    2) 50 HP is the max, but will it take the heavier 4 strokes? or does a 2 make more sense?

It will take the heavier 4 strokes... I had a 2010 Mercury 50hp 4 stroke on it... it was close to the maximum weight limit (250lbs I think) I believe the two biggest issues to watch for are maximum weight of motor and horsepower, as this is essentially a "fabric" boat, and excessive power over time could cause damage to the seams of the boat... after having had a 50hp long shaft motor (as recommended by the manufacturer), I would certainly recommend doing the max horse power again (you can never have too much power!) but I would certainly go with a short shaft, as I believe the manufacturer is incorrect with specifying a long shaft.... we had to keep moving the motor up to avoid excessive water flowing over the back of the transom due to the shaft being too long. By the time I had it properly adjusted, height wise, it would have been better off to have bought a short shaft (15") motor.

    3) What do you want for the trailer?
Trailer is $400... new bearings and bearing buddies last summer, rewired with new lights 2 years ago, new bunks/pads and adjusted for this boat 2 years ago. Needs tires soon....

    4) How fast does it run wide open and whats the most economical RPM and speed?
the fastest we had seen it on flat open water was around 22-24mph, loaded fully with 2 diver's gear... I've never had an opportunity to run it full out without any extra gear in it... the couple times we have had it on the st. john's river it was too rough to really run it at full speed.

    Thanks,

    Jon
** I can get some more pictures of the transom tonight when I get home and post them. Only damage to the transom is the four holes that were drilled for mounting the previous engine.... the mounting plate for the motor was standard, so if you plan on having a mounted engine vs. one that clamps, you will utilize these holes.

These scammer people are super annoying... I have a Harley on craigslist (also posted on here) and this boat... anytime I refresh the posting I will get emails and text messages within 30 minutes from people asking if the item is still available... then when you tell them yes, they respond with the whole "I really want this item... I am out of the country but will send you payment via currier... yadda-yadda-yadda...." now they are even using paypal.com to work their scams. When it comes to anything of decent value, I only deal in cash and one-on-one in person.... otherwise I sell on ebay so I am protected. be careful!

Orange park is about 1hr 15 min from high springs... however if you are certain that you want to the boat I could always meet you half way or work something out... let me know.

    Default additional transom pictures

here are some additional photos of the transom from both sides.... let me know if there is anything specific or close up you want to see.... I can snap some more pictures if needed.

Also, boat was originally purchased brand new from Fairwinds Boat Repairs of St. Augustine.... you could always call and talk to the owner if you have any questions about these boats.Click image for larger version
