@ 15'.....>Blue water... good flow.....some particulate in water as is normal for here......Wekiva overhead almost black-! Team of three, of which only two penetrated system......more to be explored here. Fotos & video recorded to document cave site.

I want for them to describe their experience here. I've already made my discoveries here years ago.....They'll catch wind of this soon & post their remarks, fotos, & video if possible. I've seen some of the footage, & it 's ahm, well.........different-

Most of our gear was loaded into TJ's canoe as they made their way to catch up to me in my Pryanha {WW Kayak}. They found me kamutizzen with three friendlies along the banks some 200 yards from our destination. TJ said something like: "We knew they would find me here"- We said our good'byes & headed up-stream again. I found a small landing on the 'lee' side of the island, while TJ & Bob sounded for our 'hole'. Soon they found it, & then flagged it with a diver's bouy. I was the first to get into the water, & proceeded to confirm our site. I found the Cave entrance to be filled with a lot of river trash{driftwood/empty cans etc} but otherwise as it always appeared to me several years ago. Clear & inviting. The vent had a good flow which keeps the 'normal' river water from reversing it. Soon Bob made his way over with his single back mounted 85 . TJ was in his canoe taking fotos. I briefed Bob on the layout of the system, & showed him where to make his first tie off. Inside there are two passageways: The left side is similar to the back side of downstream Cow, being narrow, restrictive & it closes off a short way in. The 'right' side passage is somewhat larger, with a heavier flow,
& a considerable amount of small shells in the perculation of venting water. Some 30' feet inside you'll find a chimmney, not unlike the one in Little River, which drops straight down below the river bed & then becomes smaller in size. Bob's first dive was a little up-setting in that he was trying to kick his way in, there-by killing the vis-! When he surfaced he explained that he was having a problem with a leaking hose. I found his leaking hose{purge valve on the BC} fixed it for him, and then suggested his used a 'pull & glide' technicque only to go in. I piggy backed off his 2nd reg to make sure he was ok, & then Bob signaled ok to make his second attempt. This time, the vent stayed clear for him, & he went ahead to see what he could inside. Some ten minutes went by, & then his bubbles broke the surface again. He surfaced with a smile of confidence on his face-! Welcome Bob, to the under-world of cave explorers- He seemed excited & now a new realization surfaced.....>he had become an explorer too. TJ was hesitant of getting in the water (no dry suit), but I was persistent on getting him to come in. Finally he anchored his boat, & got into the water. Bob donated his gear to TJ, & now it was TJ's turn to find this 'new' spot hidden under the dirty Wekiva river. After some minor adjustements to the gear, TJ dropped below the surface & down into the vent. It didn't take him long to get inside. He must have also become excited of finding a new spot to dive close to home. Again, some ten minutes later TJ''s bubbles broke the surface, & then made his way to the top. He won't say it, but I think he had a good time too-! There are some issues here, but seem un-important to this excursion. The main thing here is that two cave divers have discovered a new & exciting place to dive.......Solo or not-!

Sounds very inviting, the solo side of it, is due to the ristriction at 30ft?
Or because of the limited gear they brought? Were any fish present in the hole? The shells,are from snails? The black silt, is from the deeper side being blown through? Since it has the cans, and trash at the opening that would say at some time, it must syphon, huh? (my mind is in overdrive)
Im very happy on the find, even though you have been using it for years. Im thinking,..hmm some doubles, travel gas an "lil" bit of line. Im not up for the boat ride, i guess as long as its not 3 to5ft waves im good(reminds me of the first time, i went thru waterhole, no peter tracks, and a slight fin tip, movement brought company)

Dan,

It would be tough to have two divers with full cave gear inside here. It is safer as a 'solo' entry. Side mounted 72's to start with, & maybe a small
stage{40}as a back up would be sufficent to start with. Roger Werner used to make this dive with me, & he dove it with 72's with little difficulty, but then he is a much smaller person than I. The deep end is still basically un-explored-! The shells may be from snails, as they are small. {In the hundreds, in suspension} The entry basin could easily be cleaned out with a little effort. I never saw any deep black silt when I dove it. None was reported by either Bob or TJ as well. The smoking cigerette explosion thing.......Oh yea....dattzzzssss funny-!
