    Default Mako Parts ???

Being a broke a$$ police, who can't afford a new or even used Mako at a decent price, I'm wondering how much I could build one for using parts over time. I can afford a part here and there over time....just not the whole thing all at once....

    Any thoughts ???

Johnny Cash had a song in the 1960s called "One Piece at a Time." It was about a guy that worked at an auto plant and stole one part every day, so after several years he had enough parts to build a whole car. The problem was, some parts were for a 1961 model, and some were for a 1964, and others from in between.

"I got it one piece at a time
and it didn't cost me a dime.
    You'll know it's me when
    I come through your town."

Is this what you plan to do?

    Well yeah kinda.

I would at least make sure all the parts matched the model I will build..

What would be so bad about that? I think it would be cool, not to mention a lot easier to spot should the Ginnie bandit decide to make off with it

The bullet tail lights would be DANDY CCR PPO2 indicators, and just imagine the DIR-rigged fuzzy dice...

I did this several times. I bought a wreck Tekna here and there, collected bits and pieces, rewound armatures, and generally took my time. You can buy a new Mako mid section for around 200 bucks and turn a Tekna into a Mako.
I ended up with 2 awsome Mako's after 1 year of toying around.

If you go through all that trouble, you might as well build a Gavin

I have drawings for one, if anyone is interested.

    Me and my big mouth

I have been flooded with requests for Gavin plans.

First, I am out of town over Labor day, so I can't even look for my copy until then.

Second, I need to check on copyrights for the plans.

If I can get permission, I will scan the drawings, and post the files.

So, no more requests. If I can't get permission to post them, I probably can't mail copies either.
