I have a bunch of these I only used a time or two or not at all:changed for a different length.
Is there a typical life for a unused hose?
Probably got nothing to do with Scuba, but in Aviation rubber items life limit is usually 5 years, that's a generalization, some items vary. The thought is the rubber will deteriorate from Ozone etc. over time.
I've had a nearly new one develop a small leak at the fitting that connects to the drysuit inlet valve. No visual evidence (until it was in the water).

You should get one when you buy a suit...you should talk to the guy that sold you....he probably ripped you off.

My mother's reg system (open water) still has all the original hoses, bought in 1986. Just sayin'.
