    Default Lost Light

I know this is a long shot, but I lost an Intova Ultra light in France two weeks ago, October 7. It was at Gouffre Cabouy, in the Lot area. I think it got un snapped when I was gearing up, so could be in the headpool, or inside the cave.

Does anyone know of a European cave divers forum that I might post this on? On another long shot, I will try a British forum also.

I think you are just rubbing it in. I think a few of us would gladly give a backup light to the cave gods to drive The Lot.

Forrest, do you think you lost it because the line fastening the snap broke? I have noticed that the Intovas as well as another small backup light (ironically named "Big Blue") have such tiny holes drilled in the ends of their bodies that one can't get 2 loops of cave line through them for tying the snaps - certainly a design flaw if these are meant to be used as backups clipped on shoulder straps.

I have tried using whipping line to tie the snaps but it seems to unravel too easily. Do you know where I could find cave line in a slightly smaller diameter than "normal"?

Great video. You let your fingers do all the talking.

No, I had "help" gearing up, and I think somebody unsnapped the light by mistake. The snap wasn't on the D-ring anymore. It would have been, if the line had broken.

I use .020 stainless aircraft safety wire. Some lights etc. have sharp edges on the hole too that seems to cut line. If you use safety wire, cut the "pig tail" long and tuck it back into the hole so it can't form a hook to tear your dry suit.

A small half round hobby file fixes the sharp holes real quick.
