    Default Bottom Timers

I was looking at Bottom Timers to back up my computer on a dive and was suprised at their high cost. My question is what do others do to back up your computer?

Dive tables, but hopefully soon another computer, but I think Cave Adventurers has a DG 100 at a good price, I may have the nomenclature wrong

If your just looking for a back up I saw a mares puck/wrist style that does nitrox for like 174 bucks on sale http://www.divers-supply.com/Mares-P...ter-P1040.aspx looks like something you could put in a pocket and if needed you would have something.

I use two computers for redundancy. I also still use a bottom timer but really for looking at the dive profile without dragging out my computers and habit. If the BT ever dies I will not replace it.

Older, cheap, single gas nitrox computers. Works if you deco on back gas.

I tried using my Oceanic Veo 250 as a back-up but it did not agree with my Nitex Q and kept locking me out if I followed the Q's profile.

Yeah, that can be a problem (as is o2 deco if the backup isn't switchable). To get around it I set the conservatism on my VR3 high enough to match my backup.

Or you could still use your Deco mix, it would be real conservative, but you would be sure not to get hurt
