Janet, are you out there? What's the latest news on Peacock? Are you going to stay open tomorrow? Thanks.

Yes, PSSP will be open tomorrow, UNLESS there is a violent act of nature overnight. The hurricane is going further west than first thought so PSSP should be good. The water today was great from all good reports given to me, even Bonnet Springs. Ranger West will be happy to see you tomorrow, we've had more people swimming, snorkling and canoing this weekend than I've seen in three years. I suggest you arrive early! Happy diving!

Looked like a family reunion at the OG pavilion, strange to see more non-cave divers than cave divers. Cave has fair current, with viz around 60 +/-Originally Posted by PSSP

I was at work Sat night and got a call from the Plant Manager and General manager telling us to be careful and keep our eyes open. I understand one touched down and destroyed a home near Camp Weed. We do not have any internet access except for NOAA and we were keeping a close eye on things. Luckily for us we did not have any problems. We have had one that went right by the plant right right before I started work there several years ago and it took a roof fan off and twisted about 4 empty semi trailers around a very large pine tree in a almost vertical position. From what I understand it was almost like someone had placed them there for show with a giant hand.Originally Posted by normblitch

The Withlacoochee in Valdosta is showing a change of about 5' in river level (on 7/10 132.41 then 7/11 137.33-flood stage 138) and I don't think it has crested. All this water will take a couple days to merge with high levels on the Suwanee. There is a strong potential for the park to go under.Originally Posted by curtschu
Not to mention the 3 inches Ive had here upstream Santa Fe.Noticed a big rise from yesterday to this a.m.
Terrific, I just moved over to Lafayette Blue along with my camper (I'm now the new park resident OPS ranger). Looks like I should have left everything in boxes!Originally Posted by Kelly Jessop

It's bad luck to be superstitious.
I just called the park and spoke to the ranger, He said currently the water has come up a little but it is still clear. The computer is down in the office so I guess thats why Janet has not posted. Hopefully we will still have this weekend. I am still looking for someone that wants to dive Saturday, If the water does not come in. PM me if you are interested.
I'm going to check back Friday unless someone posts something.
