    Unhappy WTB V-weight ASAP

I need a v weight ASAP. We are in cave country on vacation, getting ready for intro. We can meet up anywhere from Ocala to Chiefland to Williston to High Spring to up and around Peacock or anywhere remotely near. Looking for something 8 to 12lbs would be fine.

Feel free to call... much easier than checking the forum on my phone... 727.452.6192 -Jason

I think Extreme Exposure in High Springs sell the Halcyon v-weights.

In a pinch, you can stuff normal weights attached with cave lines in between the tanks and the BP (where the V weight would be).

Shot bags (soft weights) will work too, but wear out, if you use them a long time.

Another trick is to put weight-belt weights on each end of a piece of short webbing, with a keeper on each end to keep them from falling off. That way you can insert the webbing between the back plate and wings. You locate the webbing between the two tank studs and you're set. You can change the weights as you see fit. They pretty much stay put wherever you place them between the tank studs, because of the way you tighten the backplate down on the studs.

Don't they teach drop weights any more for divers using aluminum doubles?

Extreme exposure did not have any to sell but had one for rent. Halcyon discontinued them. Thanks everyone.

That is because they are only needed with double AL 80s, wearing a drysuit.
