Default Diving Madison Sat. tips on a good dive / locations?

I have only been to Madison once, and my current buddy has never been. The previous time we did the Godzilla Circuit and planned to head up the gold line, but a bad reg on my stage kept up from going further.

This dive my buddy and I will be on rebreathers (rEvo) and would like to do a nice long dive around 3 hour in water time.

The map for Madison (on Tampa Diving) is not very good for planning a dive.

I wouldn't mind doing the Godzille Circuit again (to let me current buddy see it) and then continue on. Thought about entering the Rabbit Hole, doing the Godzilla Circuit then continue up the gold line.

It has been over a year since I have been in Madison. So... from looking at the map I can't for the life of me figure out or remember where the jump to Godzilla is or what route to take.

Any tips, or advice on this system would be great. We are only planning on one dive, but may end up doing two on Sat.

    Thanks in advance!

Its hard to miss the jump with all the line arrows. But its on the right around 200 ft in. Halfhitch is pretty cool on the main line at 860 ft and then theres Martz sink that you could go in at on a second dive. Nice cave with lots of character, have fun!

The goldline is extended out to open water, so I don't know that you're really saving any time going through the Rabbit Hole (that was a change since I was there last).

The Godzilla jump is right around 200' and the double arrows said "GODZILLA" at one point, you can still kinda see it.

I'd avoid the Banana room/line, it is pretty low and tight, I don't know if a 'breather would make it. The mainline is a nice dive though.

There is a great planning map in a kiosk right in the park. All the jumps are marked with line arrows, with the name of the jump.

If you want a long, scenic trip. Do the Godzilla circuit, then take the Mount Offshoot jump, into the Courtyard.

We just did this a few weeks back and had a blast. I was I my rEvo and Sam in the Optima. I was able to clear the half-hitch with ease I love the rEvo. There is so much to see, you can do gold line and then do a few circuits on the way back. I suck at remembering the names and don't have the map in front of me, but thought there was something like Godzilla to Century (or maybe Banana) takes you back to the gold line... don't take my word for it -- NO, REALLY DON'T check out the kiosk!

Well they were. I saw them when they were first put in about a year ago and thought it was really cool. We were just there a couple of weeks back and I could barely see the names -- the marker seems to have worn off.

    Cheers,
    Jeff

I wish I read your post before my dives yesterday. On our second dive my buddy and I jumped off at 400' (were looking to hit the Godzilla circuit) and went through the Banana line in Doubles. First time at Madison - had a great time in any case.

... and the tunnel that motivated me to make my "I have left the cave, so you can quit looking for me" cookie.
