Default Taking a scooter through King's Bypass

When I exit Jackson Blue I like to take alternate routes from time to time. I go through Court's Squeeze a lot and occasionally take the upper route between the fourth and third T's.

Last trip I thought about exiting via King's Bypass. Is it too tight to carry a UV-26? What about the low section? Would it mess up vis in the system? I could always push the scooter the whole way.

    Does anybody do this?

I have photographs of Kings By Pass with a scooter. However, the scooter was only used for lighting and effect and was not operated. I'm sure you're aware of some of the delicate and beautiful structure in that area and it gets very narrow with alot of silt hanging on the outcrops. Since there isn't much flow in there I'm sure it could silt out very quickly if disturbed.

I don't think I'd like to try that.... I love that part of the cave and I looove scootering in that cave but I don't think it is a terribly good idea to scooter in there.

    My 2 c's. YMMV.

I don't think anyone should be taking a scooter into King's Bypass or Canyon.

Russell asked me this question yesterday at JB. He doesn't want to scooter King's Bypass. He wants to push it through in front of him.

Right, RN. I like to scooter in and drift out, and was thinking it might be a nice change of scenery as an exiting route. I've been through the canyon a bunch of times, but I couldn't remember how tight it was - whether carrying the scooter would cause any damage.

    I decided against it.

Kings Canyon is a beautiful section of the cave and one of my favorites. I think deciding not to take the scooter through there was a good choice.

Good choice. It's a beautiful part of the cave. I scooter into jb and drift out also, but I wouldn't feel confident I could push or tow a scooter through that area without touching something.

One of my favorite parts of that cave. Sometimes I'll drop my scooter at the Hall, install the jump there, float back to the bottom jump and run in from there. Pretty cool little dive with minimal deco. If the system is busy I'll hide my scooter under the overhang of the second jump.

Having just dove that spot last weekend, I would say pushing a scooter thru the Canyon part wouldn't be a problem. However, going down the vertical line would be tricky and something is gonna get banged around. Then the lower part is gonna be tight and silting is highly likely, although I imagine Sludge's bouyancy skills are good enough to get it done.
