Default man in the sea museum cave diving

so for those of you who dont know the man in the sea museum in panama city florida now has a cave diving section. The museum has mostly the history of militarying diving. Both hard hat and re-breathers. But they now have a complete cave diving section and its worth the drive down for those of you who live close or dive the jetty's. Just avoid the evil springbreakers

    Unhappy

its pretty cool till i noticed i dive with some of the same stuff they have on display. But they have a bunch of old litterature, gear and even a mock up of a cave its self with tv screens in the opening showing cave footage.

I heard about this through the NACD as they've been working with them but have not been able to make it over there yet.
When I am able to make it, would it be possible to visit and see any of the military diving areas? (Any that are open to the public.)

Gene - I think you and I are on to many "lists" to see any of that.

Maybe Marc ... might have to fall back on some "covert ops"

well none of the school is sercret a few things at edu are but they have tours. The school has some pretty cool things to see. the problem is getting on the base. You either need an instructor to walk you around or a student attending the course.

but if you can get on base there is nothing to stop you from going to the quarter deck and looking around

I met Adam last summer and he took me on a tour of the diving school. Way cool!

    Adam,

When we do eventually make it over there I'll contact you a head of time in case you have time to give us a tour. My 15 year-old diving son would like it as would I. (And please don't hold it against me that I was an air force guy in the 80's.)

    Thanks,

    Gene Page
