    Default 10W Canister Lights

So business is slow and I have 6 or 7 of these left. I am lowering the price to $550 shipped in the US. Add Paypal fees if you wish to use pp.

These are full CNC machined heads and canisters with LiIon batteries and smart universal chargers. Heads are also hard coat anodized. Run time is 5-7 hours. 700 lumens.

So far one of these has actually been down to 300' and all get tested to 265' for at least 2 hours before shipping out.

    Thanks

    Default LED

Any news on my 27 watt led. I will be starting serious cave exploration in a month or so and will need a good light. Let me know if you can or cant do it. If its still a dud maybe you can make me a smaller powered one for me maybe 18 or 20 watt. I will keep waiting as been hearing great reports about your lights.

    Thanks

Sorry to report, that thing is still a dud! Problem with high powered LEDs is that there are not many reflector choices for them and those that are there usually flood quite a bit. There are a few LEDs out there producing very high lumens they are just way too floody for dive lights.

Right now, the Cree MCE and SSC P7 are the only ones that I have been able to get to work for a good dive light. I may need to resiort to multiple LEDs to get a good high powered light.

    Thanks
    Hector

What is the cost of a high head with the cord attached but no canister and battery?

I can do it for $215 shipped with PP. Includes head LED and LED driver as well. You would need a 14.8 LiIon battery or similar.
    Thanks

    Hector,
    Have you tried the 5*Cree P4-WC LED's?

    Hector,

Would those work well for video/photography lighting? Or do they wash out too quick?

    Thanks,
    Jeff

I am actually working to finish up a pair of SST-90s rated at 2000+ lumens when driven at 9amps. I think those are going to be great for video. I may have the prototypes ready in time for my May trip to Florida. The only problem is that they suck a lot of juice and they get really hot... So, I'll need to see about long term longevity with those.

I have tried the DX module that has 5 of those and I have to say I am impressed with the light output. The only problem with that module is that the beam is pretty funky... It's not the nice round with sidespill beam that I would need to bring something out into a market where people want to see beams to be nice and smooth. Nice module though and for about $30 a deal!

I am looking into some multi-LED modules to see if I can make a good light with. I have seen up to 7 Cree XREs in a module that may work great and claims 2000+ lumens in about 44mm diameter package. It's just finding the time and money to prototype. It takes a lot to make one of these lights from scratch since one always ens up buying a bunch of parts to try out and blow up before coming up with a final design.

My Cree 10 W is the product of about 8 months worth of playing around with options. I probably spent about $200 just in reflectors to try out... Now I have found out that you can actually get free samples of some of this stuff so it's working a bit better for me.

Custom bracket for Ocean Images housing... Will hold two SST-90 LEDs with rated 2000+ lumens. Bracket slides into the factory dove tail opening. Two canisters will be used to house 7.2V LiIon batteries and LEDs will be driven at 7-8 amps.
