    Default We've been robbed!

At 7:09AM this morning, Dive Addicts was hit by burglars. They smashed the glass door and broke in even though the alarm was blaring. Fortunately for us, they were not too bright! They stole two lap top computers, two video projectors from the classrooms, the cash drawer from the cash register with $134 in it, and a Sea&Sea Camera.

They fortunately overlooked several rebreathers and tens of thousands of dollars worth of dive computers, regulators, cameras, scooters, etc. etc. Cops said they were probably Meth Heads just looking for a smash and grab, by the looks of what they grabbed.

It is really aggravating to have to deal with all of this crap however and now have to worry about another attack at a later date! Maybe those automated machine gun intruder deterrents are not such a bad idea after all!

    Just glad it wasn't worse!

    Happy New Year everyone!

    Regards,
    Randy

Hate to hear that too. Pretty lame. Hopefully karma will catch up with them...

Happy New Year and hopefully no recurrance...

    How about some unsmashable lexan?

My condolences. My car was broken into a few weeks ago. Fortunately, I have a detective with the police who has been quite diligent in tracking down all leads. Who knows, maybe he'll catch the dirty devils.

Land of Enchantment -- not so great for cave diving, but mighty scenic!

Hmmm... sounds like the same guys that broke into our shop in Orlando a few months ago... They took a laptop, projector, all our flashlights, and the cash box ($40 or so in it)... They left wrist dive computers, regulators, and other expensive scuba items... I don't think they were divers.... just wanted things they could easily fence.... I sure miss that projector though...

Cameras, lights, audio, etc.. - just plug it in, that's all and at least you get some evidence.

Its always the people that got broke into that pays, when it comes time for insurance renewal, keep a eye around on local pawn shops , or places that buy gear, it will surface some time.

When I would close the dive shop for the night, I left the cash drawer open so the idiots would see that it was empty and not damage the register trying to open it up. When the church was broken into, our major loss was the destruction of property, e.g. door jams, file cabinets, etc. rather than loss of cash. The one bright spot was that they stole my hand held ham radio. When they were caught... and they were... I was able to point out to the prosecutor that I had programed in the police bands, and in Michigan that added yet another another charge (possessing in a vehicle a radio capable of receiving police broadcasts while in the commission of a crime).

Sadly, it is all to true that, "The smart ones seldom get caught." But that leaves 99% of the rest of the dopes out there...

As a pastor I am amazed that some of my best communions with God are when I am in the underworld!

    Hey TJ:
I have an older InFocus that needs a $275 bulb... If you want to fix it it's yours.

Thanks Hector, but we had to replace it after a few weeks...
