This is a NMh scooter by Gavin. Anybody have any experience or performance info on it? Thx. Not trying to start a "best scooter" battle.

I have one - they take a lot of fettling to get them trimmed out properly. Once sorted they go very well. You do feel a bit like you bought a $4000 kit of parts TBH
Time again - I'd have an X Scooter Sierra for the sea: Very compact and light weight - which is a big factor, both when trying to lift your body weight in gear into the water and also for air travel.

I have one of the new versions and enjoy it. Trims out nice and burn times match my buddies (who ride N19's). They are the same size and weight of an N19 and use the same battery pack. When I bought mine, he (George) had a big sale on them (may still have it going on) so mine was no where near $4000. It was actually cheaper than a new Mako.
(Just checked and they are not quite as cheap as they were last year but still not a bad deal.)
Pictures, or a link?
It is strange that GI3 is using NiMH, since he was so against it a few years ago.
I think this is being marketed as more of an open water/wreck DPV, not necessarilly cave.
I have a friend who just bought one and loves it. He bought for boat diving due to the light weight. He also uses it for very short dives in caves, but for serious cave dives, he uses the standard Gavin. He hasn't had it long enough to really have much knowledge. He says it's fast and easy to manuver - he easily keeps up with me on my standard Gavin. Down side is cost of replacement batteries - $1500. He bought his on ebay, new, for $2500. Just do an Ebay search on Gavin - there's a guy who is taking offers.
