Manatee Springs

Does anybody have a updated report on Manatee Springs/ Catfish. Tampadiving.coms last report is 1/18/09 and don't want to make the drive if it is poor vis. Thanks

We scootered there a couple of weeks ago and the viz was fairly typical of Manatee (maybe 30 feet at best), maybe a little less due to a lot of chunky stuff, past Friedman it was slightly improved and it remained like that to the fork in the back.

PS Viz in the basin at Catfish was very good until a bunch of muppetts arrived and virtually obliterated it while I was doing my 20 ft stop....

I was there 4 days ago. The vis is fine - certainly not Ginnie clear, but we scootered back and never came off the trigger. My 10W light didn't really cut it though - take something bigger. it is one awesome cave

Agreed with the above
We did Friedman's 1.5 weeks ago and the viz was about 30-40 feet. Some "chunkiness" in the water.
Still an awesome dive.

Flow was about medium , I would say , in my non-professional opinion.
