Default VR2 computer (yes or no)

    Hello,
I am sort of new to CDF ...
I was given the opportunity to purchase a VR2 brand new in box yesterday for $375 cashola ...

I told him I needed to do a bit of research before making the decision ...

now i found that they come in color or mono (dont know what this one was YET) ...

that being said ... anyone have 2 cents to throw in about the VR2?
*note* only diving open circuit for some time to come ... and for the next year, 2 gas only.

    thanks in advance for sharing.

I use a VR3 (the big brother to the VR2) and am happy with it. I looked at the VR2 when it came out, to use as a possible backup to the VR3, but thought it was cheesy compared to the VR3. If I recall, the housing was plastic instead of machined aluminum. I have also heard that the service from Delta-P technologies is not all that it could be on the VR2, as it has been discontinued. I've yet to send mine back for a checkup or recalibration, but I have also heard that it is a royal pain to ship to and from the UK without getting hung up in customs, especially when returning it to the US.

    My two cents,

    Mark

    Default why?

The Nitek Duo, Zeagle In2uition, is a very nice, intuitive, easy to see and to use, 2-gas computer, with nice software for downloading to the PC, and they sell for about 350.00 new with warrenty and repairs if needed in USA. Why buy vr2?

    Default Nitek Duo

I've owned the small and large version of the Nitek Duo for years. Easy to use and reliable. I have only one complaint, and that is the beeping. Too much beeping. I know I can turn off the sound, but that would require I read the instructions.

I wish someone would come out with a computer like the Nitek Duo that did 3 gases. I don't want to spend the money to get a LiquidVision (or whatever they are called) simply to get one more gas.

What Dean said. I'd definitely buy a Nitek style w/3 gas capability.

Zeagle has one... I am sure that Dive Rite and the others will follow shortly. It was just released about a month ago so I have not heard anything about it yet. It is called the N2iTiON 3

    Just FYI

    Default nice

very cool. and a built in compass. seems to follow the DiveRite Duo format, which is nice. available march 1st.

hopefully DiveRite will follow soon so the price will drop.

I am pretty sure that you can buy the N2iTiON 3 now, through dealers like Scuba Toys and Dive Right In Scuba. I am pretty sure that both places are selling them, not 100% sure though. The regular N2iTiON is exactly the same as the Dive Rite DUO and the Tusa IQ-700, so my assumption is that you will see their respective versions of the 3 gas computer. Although DR has probably been mostly concentrating on their new X and trying to sell that, so they may not do the 3 gas DUO. Who knows... We will just have to wait and see...

    Default New x

I've been hearing about the New X for ... 3 years now. We need to start calling it the Old New X.

Anyway... hope you are right, and all companies will keep things similar for ease of use.
