    Default Donations?

I'm putting together a box of cave stuff to send to a friend in Bonaire. He is one of few permitted to cave dive there to monitor the systems (dry caves too). It's illegal to dive caves in Bonaire (unless you are him, or his assistant).

He's older, retired, fixed income, and his cave diving gear is obsolete! He dives an alum 80, yoke, with a pony bottle! Forget about doubles, din, etc. I've built a sidemount harness to send him, but need a wing to add to it. D-rings, slides, keepers, backup lights, the whole kaboodle, would be nice too (I can't imagine anyone donating canister lights, or regs, but if you want to....). So if you have some gear you'd like to donate to bring a retired dutchman up to speed pm me please.

When I send the box(es), I'll include names (and emails if you want) of those donating and maybe next time you visit Bonaire.... Also, I will pm his email address to you if interested in contacting him. He's very soft spoken, unassuming, a real nice guy (and would never ask for donations). Someone wrote an article about him in Fathoms magazine a few years back (2005?), with a picture from inside one of the caves there.

    thanks,

geesh forrest, that wing has gotten around! after all the back and forth and up and down, and maybe the check was cashed but probably not and who cares so trade out, but then again maybe.... and not just between two but among at least three of us, that poor wing has finally found a home and now you want to send it off to another country?! Maybe someone else will jump in with a better one. no offense!

i plan to be at the hart clinic, maybe if no other offers by then?

    see you, thanks.

if I mailed you a box could you take it too? you can repack contents - harness, wing, bungee, inner tube, a bit of hardware...?

and I think the dutch spelling is Henk, although he does pronounce it Hank, but I always thought that was for us americans!

I will be at Hart Springs County Park Jan 16-19, staying at a site with electric and water for my "cot-in-a-cargo-trailer" aluminum "tent." See you there!
