Angry Initials carved in rock at Jackson Blue :(

Diving at JB last night my buddy motioned me over to look behind the rock on the deco ledge (on the left in the cavern) to show me some initials carved in the rock. The intials are:

    JC
    08

Pete is pretty sure he would have noticed if they had been there long, as that is his normal spot for deco (and we were there last week).

To the one who carved it: if we catch you, we will report you.

    Keith

PS: JCSO is now taking cell phone numbers on the signin sheet to call those cave divers who have been forgetting to at least call and sign out; please keep their overhead low and remember to sign out.

    Angry JB vandalism

I wonder if either the sheriff's department or Edd have had anyone with the initials JC come through in the estimated time frame. Of course it could be an idiot with his own boat...

I'm not sure the SO keeps the daily logs. Once everyone is signed out they may just toss them. I'll ask Edd about it later. Keith, when was the last time you were there and didn't see it? Being "08" was carved in, it leaves a very small time frame. As for the own boat thing. There are very few of us that have our own boats that dive JB...and my initials aren't JC, neither have I been in JB in several weeks. Having our own boats actually gets us to other caves more often.

We dive JB almost every Tuesday night, but only Pete goes over to the Deco Ledge. He said the carving was very obvious and captured his attention so he does not think it was there on 30th (but with others on the ledge that night he may not have seen it), but he is sure it was not there on the 22nd.

There is no limit. We'll always find a way to go deeper and deeper. That's been the pattern all along.
