Full-time substitute, but the Special Ed teachers at two schools have me on speed-dial.

I work with the top two on a regular basis, and the third one occasionally, in the public high schools.
Hey man, why you post my scores on thisa fowum?

The real problem with stats is they can be very misleading, particularly when samplings are small.

The one I heard was supposedly from Mark Twain: "There are liars, damn liars, and then there are statisticians."

    Talking Statistics

    Three statisticians went deer hunting.

When they saw a deer, the first statistician shot and missed, three feet to the right.

The second one shot and missed, three feet to the left.

The third one leapt in the air, yelling "You got him! You got him!"

An engineer, a geologist and a lawyer are all three asked the same question "What is 2 + 2?".

The engineer says "Well that's 4.0000."

The geologist says "It's somewhere between 3 and 5."

The lawyer says "What do you want it to be?"

A biologist, a physicist, and a mathematician were sitting in a street café watching the crowd. Across the street they saw a man and a woman entering a building.

Ten minutes later they reappeared together with a third person.
“They have multiplied,” said the biologist.
“Oh no, an error in measurement,” the physicist sighed.
“If exactly one person enters the building now, it will be empty again,” the mathematician concluded."

I'm thinking you're far from the only one - Tracy (my spousal unit and cave diving partner) claims to be math phobic (though she can do all kinds of tech diving math in her head).

She says that she deals with her math anxiety by denying the existence of any number larger than 5. "0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, many!"
