Anyone been to Cow recently and have a conditions report?
Anyone been to Cow recently and have a conditions report?
I went there on Tuesday afternoon of this week, (the 26th of Aug.), and the conditions were great in my opinion.
100 plus vis in the upstream system where I swam to the 1000 foot arrow.
And to around 200 feet on the downstream I'd say it was around 60 feet or so.
Even the basin was clear. The only possible complaints would be some small debris on the basin surface and a lot of mosquitoes!
It was a wonderful dive and if those conditions hold I'm planning on going back as many other places seem to be flooding out.
I'd call Dive Outpost and ask them.
This is from earlier today. The diver is standing at the top of the limestone "slide" that's usually well above the water. The water is up "Just a tad."

Shirley you're not serious? No, I'm not, but do stop calling me Shirley.
Well the water is certainly up a bit from last week at this time but how was the vis...?
Did a dive in Cow this morning. (09/01)
Flow was still down and the vis in upstream was just dandy. (SMILE)
We almost made it to the Cow on backgas.
(no runs , no hits , no stages etc)
Does that answer your question? ( lol )
NOW THE MOSQUITOES , THAT'S ANOTHER MATTER!!!! (EEK)
The vultures attacked us just as we stuck our heads out of the water and followed us up the hill. I think they followed me over to D.O. too ( lol)
Big flock of them following my car.

P.S. The technical term ---> Dandy Vis translates to about 50-60 feet. Even nice back by the Changeup. Had no problem seeing the jumps/lines etc.
