It looks like fay is projected to come up the west coast of florida and head into cave country on tuesday. If this is the case everyone should get there cavedives in this weekend and possibly on monday if it is not too bad out then.

Well.....after 38 years diving in the Great Lakes, I've never gotten seasick on my way to a cave dive....whats a little rain......lol

I'm taking my Apprentice class on Tuesday...

I knew the class would blow me away but I didn't think I'd be blown away above the water....

A little rain isn't bad but when you get a lot of rain with strong winds it really makes a difference. JahJah good luck with your apprentice class. What instructor is teaching you?

Rich Courtney. I was going to take it sometime this fall, but his schedule was booked. He had a few days open up here so I jumped on the opportunity before I had time to take much of a look at other instructors. I know he'll kick my butt into line if I'm not doing something right, so it ought to be a fun class

I went thru Alberto here , but Fay forcasted to be a bit stronger. I pray this one doesn't slow down and turn into another Charlie (I.E. Punta Gorda)

Ahh, the dreaded Alberto.I was able to get my first day in of Apprentice with Jill Heinerth.Started out at Little River,then gassed up at CEE and headed to Manatee.Got to the entrance and was informed that camper were being evacuated.So we headed back North to Telford to finish the day.Followed her back to her house to go over more bookwork etc.and drove home.The next day was postponed because of the storm and lightning.Had to wait 3 weeks to finish because of her busy schedule and being out of the country.Finally finished on June 30th 2006.The lightning may cause yall some problems and might not.Good Luck!

Here in Louisiana, I had the distinct displeasure, among a host of others, to go through scores of hurricanes to hit this area in the last 45 years including Betsy, Camille, Carmen, Juan, Georges, Charlie to name a few, and oh lets not forget Rita and Katrina whose after effects will be felt for decades here. We thought Betsy and Camille were bad. And as bad as these storms were for us, when you look at other countries that get hit by typhoons on the other side of the world, you could almost call us lucky to have only lost 1000 people in a storm.

But we stay here anyway because we love the climate, but mostly because it is home. And there will only ever be one place where we grew up and where our memories were born. The adversity and struggle introduced by the hurricanes makes us fight that much harder to keep what we have and enjoy the time we have in this place.

All of a sudden things are getting interesting for Luraville around Wednesday afternoon!

I always say the best place to be is right on that center line. They never get it right, so if you are on the center line, you can almost be positive that you are safe from a direct hit.
