Exclamation Cave Diver's Forum Social & New Year's Eve Party

Cave Diver's Forum Social (I've lost count...) & New Year's Eve Party and Annual Scooter Race at Ginnie Springs on the 31st of December, 2008. Yeah, its a Wednesday, but if you are a real diver, you'll be diving on New Year's Eve, not working...

We'll get another scooter trophy, bigger than last year, and find us another model for it...

It will be cold most likely (nice to think of right now in this Florida heat...), and camping might be an option if you do the midnight dive with the real divers...

    We'll have fun!

    Cheers!

I believe Kim and Bob Knazik volunteered to co-chair this. Bob, reply if this is the case.

Mike, is the Little Devil pavilion reserved for the daytime? The Ginnie pavilion is where we'll be from about 9pm on, but I don't think we need to reserve it.

Folks, I've spent the first few minutes of each new year in an underwater cave for nine straight years now. We have done the cyalume thing about four different ways, but last year we outdid ourselves. If you want to see the coolest underwater light show ever, BE THERE!

Yup, I volunteered to chair this, but my event starts at 9 PM

TJ, I'll help with the daytime stuff. My plan was to do the midnight dive in the ballroom, then have a cookout afterwards. Nothing like a burger and a brew at 1:30 AM !

PM me, we can coordinate this.

    Thanks,

    Bob K

    Exclamation

We'll get something going during the day also, so we can get the scooter race done, and such... Bob, you do the night, and we'll get (Russell) someone to do the day...

Very cool. I'll be in FL for 10 days over Christmas-New Years. Would love to meet up with some of you and definitely do the midnight dive.

Very cool, I'll be there with the family, but I'll pass on the "last dive of the year" thing. The last time I did that was at the end of 2004 and it just about killed me....

    All,

Looking for volunteers to bring side dishes to the social. I'm going to provide the hamburgers / hotdogs / buns. Is someone wants a different meat, such as chicken, they should bring that.

Please PM me with the item you are volunteering to bring. I estimate we will have between 30 - 50 people.

    Thanks !

    Default glass?

i thought glass was biodegradable. it's just hot sand right? it wears back down to sand eventually? even the sharp edges are gone in a week or two in water due to erosive forces, right?

one online source says one million years....

    and there's a cool site for "sand-blown glass." http://www.lexmelfi.com/
