Just open water is needed. I originally signed up with just an AOW card to go there and take my cavern class (they did not know that). This was in May...

A little bit of a late response...

Any dive certification is sufficient now. The rule was changed over the past year. However, there really isn't any OW diving to be done there. The deepest OW area is right in the middle of the opening and it's about 13-15 feet depending on where they have the dam. It's usually on the shallower end.

JB has a great cavern, and AFAIK it's been open to cavern divers and up for quite some time. My first dive there years ago was at Intro/Basic level.
