Solo Diving Survey Revisited

It's been awhile, but I've finally managed to whittle down some data and am ready to collect a bit more. Did not get quite enough responses the first time around (so if you did this survey once before, please don't do it again, thanks).

When asks for birthdate and mother's maiden name, just make up something. no real dates/names please. it's all confidential.

I will post results here in about a month, maybe less. The data is now double what it was (158 divers have filled it out), so it could be analyzed anytime now. However, I'd like to give everyone a chance in this second round before shutting it down and beginning the analysis phase.

It will be interesting to see the general opinions of folks on solo diving, especially since the New Accident Analysis (link in another thread) has come out and implicated solo diving (along with aging cave divers, rush to embrace new technology, incorrect gas switches, equipment maintenance).

I am especially interested in the case history question on the survey asking about incidents you have been personally involved in. It's one thing to review accidents and then say X% were due to Y. It's another thing to get a handle on the unreported near accidents. If there were 10 accidents, for example, it's nice to know that there were also 100 near-accidents that ended with survival, but consider if the near-accidents numbered 500! 10/100 vs 10/500 is a considerable difference and alters the meaning of the 10 fatal accidents.

The new CDG manual has a section on risk analysis with solo cave diving as well as an accident analysis of English and Welsh incidents.
