Had many problems with mine. The LED burnt out the first time I used it. Back to Salvo for a replacement. After a few weeks layover. The light wouldn't turn on. Screwed it all the way in and nothing. Used my backup DR HID. Back in the parking lot, it worked fine. Two days later...nothing again. All total it failed 3 out of the 7 times I used it. Returned it to the Dealer...using my old DR HID again...Ken

I just got the 21w LED last week. So far only had 14 dives on it, but it is a great light. As bright as the 21w HID of my instructor. Not focusable, but I don't mind that.

I pointed out a solution to the problem, then the fact that I am an inherent clutz, trying to poke fun at myself. I'm clumsy sometimes and I'll admit it But I've lost the handle other times too before putting on the bungee, and it's so simple to add bungee and avoid the problem for the most part, until you are frantically trying to get into your gear to jump in the water as you roast in your 5mil farmer john with hooded vest in the Florida afternoon in the sun by Devil's..... I was moving too fast is all, and wanted to poke some fun at myself

Glad you love me mate, would be ecstatic if you were a good looking brunette about 5'5" with hazel eyes who lived in Ocala and loved me....

Just to be clear: I love my light. It has some issues which I have found simple solutions for, and Salvo took care of me when I had a defective product. I would give this product a very high reccomendation, but would suggest going for the 21 watt, or at the very least, pick up a foot of 3/16" bungee while you are at the shop buying the 12 watt Great product!!!

Instead of holding the elastic tighter, try lessening the overall length of the elastic material via the "elastic shortening apparatus". This can be applied through either end (Left or Right) sides of the handle.

I know you can procure the aforementioned bungie at Ginnie, Call Tobin and get a bungie mount for your bottom timer. Then you can have one less clumbsy act EACH TIME you dive.
    AMAZING.

Oh, btw. 867-5309, ask for Jenny.

My preferred solution was to get a hold of a sleek hard goodman from Salvo I simply don't like elastic handles. Didn't like the one I used on a dive rite HID either, though the Salvo one looks a heck of a lot better built than the DR one.

The bungee is cheap at Ginnie and I've been using it since after my second dive with the light. Doubles as a spot to hook an arrow or cookie, though I have had a line arrow come off the bungee. (a glow in the dark arrow bought solely for kicks and giggles, during a lights out air share drill through the Keyhole. I have never laughed so hard underwater as when a glowing line arrow floated, spinning by my head)

And yes, the DSS bungee mount is much, much, much nicer than the watch strap thing that both my bottom timer and my Duo came with. I don't see why DR and Uwatec don't just buy the good mounts from Tobin and stop sending them out with those less useful watch strap things...
