Thread: WTB Valves

    Default WTB Valves

I am trying to setup for sidemount. After my first sidemount dive the first thing I decided needed change was the valves. I am looking for a used manifold or pair of valves (left and right) or just the divers left valves to replace a couple standard ones. I am looking for the convertible kind though in 200 BAR. Prefer thermo or dive rite but most anything will do. Thanks

I'm always looking for valves. It's not likely you'll find used valves for much less than what you can get new ones for...even on ebay. How much are wanting to spend?

The cheapest valves I have found are for $45 each through scubatoys (Just over $200 for a manifold). I am not opposed to that price at all for new standard 200 bar valves but since I want at least 1 or 2 left post valves I am in a pickle. Dive rite express sells them for $90 each and another site sells them for $78 + shipping. Scubatoys quoted me $105 for the left post modular valve. I would like to find at least one for now maybe $60 shipped max (the left post kind) Just so I can get some more sidemount time in.

In a perfect world I would have all matching brand valves of a modular style so I could double up any tanks I want but really I dont have much use for doubles in minnesota as its so cold.

When I decide I can afford to move south (Q-Roo country) I may invest in some more gear but chances are I will likely sidemount most of the time anyway as even after 1 dive it seems to make more sense for cave diving.

CEE had some DiN valves on sale for $30, I'm not sure if they still have them.

I have two OMS H valves that I'd sell to you for $100 each, but I don't think that's what you want....

I don't think you'll find a left hand valve for less than $75. The $45 kind you found on Scubatoys aren't made in the left hand orientation. You can get 2 of these for less than $150 with the CDF discount and shipping is included in the price. You're not likely to find LH valves for any less or even used unless it's part of a manifolded set.

Have you done a cave class yet? If not, they you may want to consider diving doubles. Right now, you need a waiver to take a cave class in sidemount and I'm not so sure they're given out that easily.
