    Default Vr3 Color Display Issues

I am finding it very difficult to read the first digit of the depth and deco depth on my color VR3. The screen border is black and cannot be changed. This is not an issue with monochrome units since the border is the same color as the screen. Digits 3, 6, 8 & 9 are hard to distinquish from each other. Has anyone else found this to be an issue? My vision is not the issue since I can easily make out the gas swaps.

I'm not sure what's wrong with it Vince, but I have a 2 pound hammer in my truck. I can fix it.

    Vince,

I can't say that I have noticed that problem with mine. I'm not 100% sure what you're talking about but I'm assuming if it were happening to mine (color) I would know.

A little vague, I know, but I hope it helps nonetheless

I'm also diving a color screen VR3 without any similar issues. I'm located in the Panama City Beach area if you'd like to arrange to meet and compare your screen to mine.

    Hope this helps...

Is it one of the new ones that came with the 2007v3C and 7 pin connector?
If so I’m on my second one
The first one was doing 300m dives without me! Too bad I didn’t have the download kit, 300m dive for a few hours and then straight to the surface.

I took it back to the Dive Shop that I bought it at, they called Delta-P and was told to ship it back and it would be repaired, the shop owner said F that send me a new unit, two weeks later I was diving a new unit (really can’t tell if its new or I got someone else’s refurbed unit) but I tell myself that its new

Needless to say this unit has a problem, but I’m just living with it.
Problem: 3.6v battery causes the screen to change contrast (when the backlight is on), the resolution is to use a 3.0v battery but I only get one maybe two days of diving before it shows low battery, nice resolution

    MY OPINION
Delta-P really screwed the pooch on quality control during 2007.

    Also:
if you go over to rebreatherworld.com there is about 50 people selling there VR3’s.

I have compared my color VR3 to 2 others. All three have the same issue. The depths just need to be shifted to the right 3 mm. Easy resolution through a software push from the engineering perspective but well see if anyone responds to my concerns at DeltaP.

    Default Vr3

I've had a color VR3 for about three years I guess. I've never experienced the problem you described. I have the backlight set to on all the time and I just use a standard AA battery. I get about 6 cave dives per battery and probably 15 or so recreational dives. I just monitor the battery voltage when the computer boots up and change it when it drops to 1.3V.

have the color VR3 and leave light on all the time--no problems with the displays--am sending it back in fall for HD upgrade-- computer has given me no problems at all--could your problem be related to the colors you've chosen to use for the letters and background?
