I got into town late Monday evening of the 14th and met with FW and MM. The next morning FW took his new toy for a test run in JB and I took the GEM on a expermental dive. I penatrated for 15 minutes, placed a marker and exited to see how much gas I used. Then went back to see about getting MM for dive since FW was going ot head out but MM decided to do the same. I noticed that MM was cold. I guess his Yankee blood has thined out.
The next morning I did the same dive but this time on OC to do the same and check gas usage. Then a dive with the GEM for fun, this time I did the Horseshoe Circute.
Woke up and did a dive with a ne buddy in Hole N the Wall and I used the GEM while one buddy was in SM and another in a KISS. During the dive I thought I would do some more test and do some gas analyasis. Going in we penatrated down the Centruy tunnle for about 200 feet, I then changed over to OC for the trip out to check my gas. On that dive I used 200 psi during the penatraion and 1800 on the way out.
On the 18th Idid one dive, this time we went down stream and I used a total of 300 psi for the whole dive.
On the 19th met up with Marby and Skasser. We chated around and let htem get all ready since Marby had a redeye and was trying to sleep some during the dive. We dove Twin and went down the Subay and played around looking at the cave. It was great not to be teaching a class and just get to see the caves again on this trip. THat afternoon after some fills we headd up to JB for some fun. On that dive I was going in and say a krazy looking gal decoing and for some strane reason I knew just who it was, yup it was Ceila. after the dive I swam over to the sand and hollerd at her and she well, she did not come running but walked over with Scott and we chated an she got to see the GEM not only in action as I went bye but to get a look at the mouth peice (hart of the system).
Well, last day of diving and Marby, SKasser and I did Hole N the Wall upstream and had another nice slow relaxing dive. THen after lunch we decided to do Gator Hole. I got to put the GEM away and get a SM dive in. We did have some time looking for the site and then found it as we slowly motored as close to the bank as we could. GOt in and all geared up and stayed to the left like Edd said but I needed to move tohe right wall sooner. Marby found the hole and I went down and well, you could say that with the 3 of us in there trying ot find mainline it wa a mess. I di tie in and make it through the restrcition and noticed no lights behind me so I waited an then exited an they were back at the boat waiting for me. It was a long day and we were geting tiered and they had a 5 hour trip back so we called it a day.
I did take some of the warm temps home with me but they did not stay here long before the storms came back and all of our systems and lakes are all messed up again and it is thought the maybe in June or July we can get back in some of the sytems to dive.
For the ones I met down there for the first time, it was great and I had a blast with you all. THe ones I know and are just ole buds, great to see you all again.
The warm water that is totaly clear well I noticed that some say vis is doen, hey anything above 58* and 30 foot of vis is warm and crystal clear. Met several that hope to m ake it up to the MO WOrkshop in September and get to enjoye what we have up here.
Until next time, cath you all later.
