The road repair has begun, when I left yesterday they were down to the deep pit right after you turn the curve at OG to to down to Peacock. There was a load of rock dumped in the depression waiting to get spread out and it helped to show how deep the depression actually is, it looked like 3 or 4 more loads and it may be full. It is all a gravel type rock so far to that point and has really evened the road out. It will be about 2 weeks before the work is completed.
I was exploring the recently purchased property across the road from the park entrance yesterday with two biologists, the water in Walker, Baptizing and Pump was really nice looking, it is not blue yet, only saw one water mocassion, it was sunning itself along the road ( I relocated my self immediately). I looked into Challenge yesterday the water looks much better there it's no longer black. At OG and P1 there are two steps left underwater and when I cleaned the duckweed off the bottom step at OG the water was much clearer and lighter in color. At P1 the slime is all over the water surface there is no flow between 1 & 2 anymore, P 2 looks real nice because the slime is floating over to P3 and it looks be be a fair amount of flow going into 3, almost the whole surface at P3 except where the flow keeps it clear is covered with the slime. I had no trouble with mosquitos the whole day however Wed. afternoon while trimming the trail I did have a few buzzing around me in the woods. Safe diving!
