    Default Manatee - 03/15/2008

Did a REALLY NICE dive this morning in Manatee. Got to the gate early and there was still a little bit of a line.
We went in at Catfish and right away , we noticed the flow was DOWN. We made it a couple of hundred feet or so PAST Friedman's. Vis was very nice (40-50 feet) and very little particulate in the water. It was so nice you could see light from Friedman's and Sue's sinks on the floor. (SMILE) And it was cloudy out and STILL the light came down very nicely. Made an awesome view from underneath , as it always does.

The rangers told us that Manatee Head springs is closed to diving because there are Manatees in the spring. So we exited at Catfish , which is easier now since the water is about 2-3 steps above the concrete landing.

    Wonderful Dive

    It was beautiful past Friedman's.
A couple of teams were just going in when we were doing our Deco. (Scooter-teams)
I wish I could have stuck around and asked them how the conditions were for them.

    Thanks!
    Beano

P.S. We definately hit it on the right day.

Sounds like even better than when we dove it!

I consider it a big plum for our somewhat troubled trip that we got to dive Manatee when you could swim as well as we did and get as far as we could on 6ths. It was a really fun dive.
