    Default Ginnie conditions Deteriorating??????

We were thinking of diving Ginnie tomorrow but read a report on tampadiving.com from 3/12 that vis was down to 10-15ft due to tannic intrusion back to a couple thousand feet. Can anyone that's been there in the last few days confirm that report or has it improved? Thanks

On tuesday and wednesday (I dove Wednesday) there was some low vis problems related to the recovery process. The ear was tanic but it cleared once inside the system....Ken

Agreed...We dove it Friday morning and except for the Ear being blacked out , no issues.

    Default Tannic water

Ditto on what Ken said. The Ear is pretty dark until you get down a bit but the Eye is clear and most of the cave still looks nice. It did seem like the big room was down a little and was fuzzy but its still pretty good. If its a place in there that gets some intrusion when it floods you might notice a little difference right now but overall its in good shape. Ginnie has put a line in the Eye to the mainline that is to be left in since the traffic mostly will be going that way. I suspect it will stay there until conditions get better in the Ear. Folks that go into the back half of the cave might be able to give better reports of conditions in those areas. You might want to check Walters site also for updates.

    Smile Ginnie Conditions

The staff at GS reported to me over the phone today (Sat 3/15) that the conditions inside the cave were good, and that there was no river intrusion.

We dived Ginnie Saturday and Sunday. Tannic at the ear, but everything else was clear, just a bit busy.

The new traffic light they've installed at the lips is helping quite a bit, and the traffic circle in the gallery is working out great.

There is a "temporary" permanent guideline installed in the eye for now.
